What serious and urgent expenses can be covered by a grant from the Society?

 

Medical or Dental Expenses not covered by private insurance or Medicare.

This category covers a wide variety of needs. Here are some examples of honored grants:

  • The cost of a medical procedure
  • Coverage during Medicare “donut hole” prescription time
  • Purchase of a new pair of reading glasses or hearing aids
  • Repairing a cracked tooth or replacing damaged dentures
  • Purchase of a wheelchair or installation of a home disability ramp
  • Travel-related costs for transportation, hotels and meals for outpatient treatments.

 

Funeral expenses for a member or member’s dependents 

 

  Damage or loss of a residence that is not covered by insurance.                                     

Damage or loss from an Act of God. Including Flood, Hurricane, Tornado, Lightning Strike, Hail Storms.

Damage or loss from accidental or sudden incidents. Including Fire, Burst Pipes, Electrical Power Surge.

Structural damage from hidden causes including insect damage and leaking septic systems.

 

 

 

Unexpected Expenses for critical household needs such as utility bills, groceries and clothing.
